My name is Joe Dishon and I started The Inspection Guys because I understand that buying a home is one of the biggest decisions a family can make. As a father of three, I know how important it is to feel confident, informed, and protected when choosing the place you may call home.

My experience comes from years of following and working around the trades, learning what makes a home safe, functional, and built to last. That background gives me a practical eye for the details that matter, from the major systems to the small signs that can tell a bigger story.

My goal is simple: to give every client the information they need to make the best decision possible. I take pride in being thorough, honest, and willing to do what it takes to help my clients understand the home they are looking at. Whether it is your first home, your next home, or a house you are unsure about, I am here to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Commitment to supporting Autism Awareness

Logan lives with autism, and because of him, autism awareness and support are very personal to our family. He has taught us patience, understanding, compassion, and the importance of seeing the world through a different lens.

Our commitment to supporting autism awareness is not just part of our business — it is part of who we are.

Our commitment to supporting autism awareness is not just part of our business — it is part of who we are.

One of the most special parts of Ernie’s life was the bond he shared with Logan. Like so many Labradors, Ernie had a way of being present without needing words. He could be calm when calm was needed, playful when it was time to smile, and loyal in a way only a dog can be. For Logan, Ernie was more than a pet. He was a steady companion, a source of comfort, and a best friend who was always nearby.

That bond is part of what makes Rafter so meaningful to us.

Rafter represents more than a mascot for The Inspection Guys, LLC. He represents loyalty, patience, awareness, and the quiet comfort that comes from having someone by your side. He is inspired by Ernie, but he also carries the love and lessons our family has learned through Logan.

As our business grows, we are proud to support autism awareness and organizations that help families like ours. Every inspection is more than just a service — it is an opportunity to give back, raise awareness, and honor the people and pets who helped shape our journey.

Rafter’s mission is simple: sniff out defects, help protect homeowners, and remind people that trust, loyalty, and compassion matter in everything we do.

Rafter's Backstory

Rafter's Backstory

Rafter the Inspector was inspired by a very special dog named Ernie.

Ernie came into my life when he was just 8 weeks old. Like most Labradors, he was loyal, loving, goofy, and always nearby — but Ernie also had a personality all his own. He had a little attitude, a lot of character, and a way of making himself part of every moment.

Ernie came into my life when he was just 8 weeks old. Like most Labradors, he was loyal, loving, goofy, and always nearby — but Ernie also had a personality all his own. He had a little attitude, a lot of character, and a way of making himself part of every moment.

For 12 years, Ernie was more than just a dog. He was family. He was there through the good days, the busy days, and the difficult ones. Sadly, we lost Ernie in 2023, but his memory continues to stay with us every day.

My family has always had a love for Labradors. There is something about them that just fits. They are dependable, curious, alert, and always by your side. They notice things. They investigate everything. They are loyal companions who make people feel comfortable and protected.

That is exactly why Rafter felt like the perfect mascot for The Inspection Guys, LLC.

A good home inspector needs to be curious, thorough, dependable, and willing to look in the places others may overlook. Labradors have that same spirit. Whether sniffing around the yard, following you from room to room, or keeping watch over the family, they have a natural instinct to stay close and pay attention.

Rafter represents that same commitment.

He is a tribute to Ernie, a reflection of our family’s love for Labs, and a reminder of what we want every client to feel during an inspection: comfort, trust, loyalty, and confidence that someone is truly looking out for them.

Rafter may be a mascot, but his story is personal. He carries a little bit of Ernie with him — the attitude, the loyalty, the curiosity, and the heart.

And now, he is here to help us sniff out defects, protect homeowners, and make the inspection process a little more approachable along the way.
